SONDA, a leading company in digital transformation services in the region, reported to the Financial Market Commission (CMF) its consolidated results for 2024. Consolidated revenues for the year reached US$ 1,548 million, with a growth of 18.6% in reporting currency compared to the year 2023.

The technological solutions integrator detailed that all geographies advanced strongly during 2024, with double-digit growth. The Andean Region grew 28.2%; Brazil, 21.7%; North America, 19.0% and the Southern Cone Region, 16.2%.

Operating profit in 2024 was US$ 91 million, which translates into a growth of 12.1% over what was reported in 2023. Meanwhile, EBITDA stood at US$ 144 million, which means an increase of 14.6% compared to the same period the previous year.

The better performance is due to the fact that the company has continued to strengthen its specialization in industry verticals, through which it is capable of generating digital solutions that solve the business needs of each client. On the other hand, the deepening of its operations in focus geographies such as Chile, Brazil, Mexico and Colombia, has allowed it to access highly attractive markets, with high growth rates above those expected for IT spending.

Net profit attributable to the parent company was US$ 32 million, US$ 6.3 million lower than in 2023. This difference is mainly explained by a non-recurring and non-cash financial profit of US$ 8 million in 2023 generated by the takeover of Multicaja, among other factors. Without this effect, net profit would have grown by 6% compared to 2023.

Closing of contracts in all industries

At the end of 2024, SONDA closed new businesses for an amount of $1,764 million, while its pipeline -or new opportunities- is US$5.3 billion.

“The growth of the company in 2024 in all regions is proof of the solidity of the strategy and the evolution that we have been experiencing in the 13 countries where we operate. They are all very dynamic markets, and in which we have positioned ourselves as a very competitive player thanks to our digital technological solutions and services,” explained Marcelo Castiglione, corporate CEO of SONDA.

The executive added that “during 2024, the closing of our first electromobility project for the installation and management of electrochargers for public transportation in Mexico stood out; two outsourcing and integration megadeals in Colombia; the installation of a Hyperscale in our Data Center in Chile and other smartsafety projects in different countries with AI components. Without a doubt, we will continue to support our clients in the challenges posed by this digitalization route that will be more critical each day in the development of companies and public institutions.” Other projects to highlight in the year.

In Chile, SONDA enabled an open payment system together with EFE so that people can pay their tickets through a QR code, credit, debit and prepaid cards. Additionally, new operational continuity services for OT networks in mining companies and new operational continuity services and industry solutions in health and retail were implemented.

In Brazil, a large printing outsourcing was implemented with the largest network of clinics in the country and applications were developed for the Banco do Nordeste do Brasil and BANESTES. On the other hand, a base metal automation maintenance service was installed for Vale, in addition to new Infovía communications contracts.

In Uruguay, SONDA exceeded 8,000 security cameras installed and managed in a single, centralized center in Montevideo. Also during 2024, they installed a banking switch that manages 60% of the countrys banking transactions.

In Peru, the SmartCampus project was developed together with the Peruvian North American Cultural Institute, which has 70,000 students. In Argentina, the year was positive, new clients were added to the portfolio and the EMV payment facility was implemented for more than 7,100 transport buses in Buenos Aires.

“In 2025, our focus will be to continue growing in the development and integration of technological solutions in industries where we are already present, such as banking, transportation and retail, among others, and to which we will add one where we see a great opportunity given the growing demand: the telecommunications services. For this reason, in 2025 we will implement a new business vertical specialized in this sector. The objective is to support telecommunications and media companies, taking advantage of the vast experience of SONDA, which throughout its history has worked hand in hand with this industry,” added José Orlandini, president of the board of directors of SONDA.
