1. What should I do if there is an error at the turnstile?
Please proceed to your nearest Specialized Service Center (CAE). Throughout the city and along Lines 1 and 2 of the Panama Metro, there are 17 CAEs.
2. How many turnstiles are available per station under this updated payment system?
Panama Metro Lines 1 and 2 have entrance and exit turnstiles.
3. Can I transfer using ContactLess?
Transfers are only possible on the Panama Metro. It applies to Metro Lines 1 and 2.
4. What cards can I use to pay for this service?
To access the service, you may use any Visa or Mastercard contactless card from a national or international bank.
5. Why can't it be an AMEX card, Sistema Clave, swiped at subway or Metrobus stations?
Contactless payments are only available for Visa or Mastercard. As soon as upcoming brands come out, we will inform you accordingly.
6. Is a fee associated with swiping a debit or credit card?
No. Visa and Mastercard cards are not subject to additional fees in the Panama Metro.
7. Can I use my credit or debit card if I have a special card?
Discounted fares are available on special cards. Visa or Mastercard charges are regular.
8. Can I use my debit/credit card to swipe at metro lines and bus stations?
Contactless payment service is available only at Panama Metro stations and is compatible with Visa or Mastercard EMV contactless technology.
9. How do I activate credit or debit card service for subway trips?
The service is available if you have a Visa or Mastercard with a contactless logo. It is optional to register or take any further action.
10. Can I pay subway fare with my iPhone or Apple Watch?
Apple pay is a new payment method that allows you to pay subway fares using your iPhone or Apple Watch. To do this, you must first link your Visa or Mastercard to enjoy this upcoming benefit.
11. Is it possible to recharge at an ATM?
At Clave System ATMs, you can recharge your Metrobus card.
